Inception group are very excited to be featured in Virgin Experiences piece “Inside the business taking storytelling to a whole new level”
“As far as innovative uses of storytelling go in business, Inception Group takes some beating. The brainchild of co-founders Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling, the nightclub, bar & restaurant operators, prides itself on immersing customers in unique and theatrical storylines…
Inception Group venues are designed to bring people on immersive and unexpected experiences. A great example of which is one of their latest spaces in Covent Garden – inspired by mobster films, it’s accessible through an industrial meat locker, where guests ‘negotiate’ with a butcher to enter.
Having promoted the brand through pop-ups at events such as Queen’s Club tennis championships and Henley Regatta the pair oversaw sales of £14 million in 2016, chalked up a place on the Fast Track 100 and now boast a staff of over 300. We spoke to the guys to get a better understanding of what storytelling means to their business.”

Inception group visited the Bombay Sapphire Distillery on Monday 16th for our annual away day. We saw some excellently motivating presentations, one in particular by our Head of Maintenance Jerry who drew an impeccably thorough – but entirely improvised – analogy between team Inception and a military ranked army.
Later we engaged in a team-building ‘egg drop’ exercise; highlighting the creativity of certain team members. (Most eggs were successful.) We then ended with a tour of the Bombay Sapphire Distillery, educating ourselves on all that is required to make this incredible brand of Gin.
Mr Fogg’s Residence, has become the first bar to send a cocktail into space. The cocktail (From The Earth To The Stars) will be used as bitters and available for guests to enjoy in a limited edition cocktail at the bar.
A bottle of the bitters was sent 27km above the earth’s surface to capture this photo, with the help of acclaimed food and drink scientists, Bompas & Parr, who sent the drink into space using a bespoke balloon. The bottle journeyed for 2 hours and 15 minutes with temperatures dropping as low as -57 degrees.
The bottle has now be taken on the final leg of its journey and turned into London’s most well-travelled drink, with From The Earth to The Stars, a celestial libation made with Tanqueray TEN Gin, fresh lavender, grapefruit peels, orange peel, lemon peel, fresh chamomile and angelica root. This interstellar cocktail will be both delicious and offer drinkers a unique chance to travel to infinity and beyond with just one sip.
For a chance to try this extra-terrestrial libation, come and visit us at Mr Fogg’s: https://mr-foggs.com/residence/reservations/

To win it once was very special, then to follow up last year with another win was a complete surprise but to win it an unprecedented three times is truly amazing. We are very proud to win Best Hospitality Group in London once again.

BungaTINI is an all day trattoria and bar open from 7am-1am serving coffee, breakfast, lunch, aperitivo, dinner, drinks, and everything in-between.
Inspired by a neighbourhood back-street Italian bar/pizzeria, it serves a delicious range of home-made pastries, pizzas and classically simple regional dishes available to eat in or take away. The bar houses a large selection of Italian wines, beers, proseccos and vermouths and also serves a range of cocktails perfect for either an aperitivo or digestivo.
Downstairs, it offers a more informal bar setting with high tables and a counter to eat and drink at whilst the trattoria with restaurant tables is upstairs looking over the bar below.
Buon Appetito!
